New England Sport: Winter TV Binge-watching

SOUNDBAR-Kickstands-1

Let’s face it – New England winters were made for TV binge-watching, from Netflix to the televised events we gather around: The Golden Globes, The Oscars, the Super Bowl, the Winter Olympics and March Madness.

Our viewers guide is below, but first let’s talk TV. What do you view your favorite programs on? Then we’ll talk about where you watch and finally, all of the extras that enhance the television experience.

TVs

We are big fans of Samsung’s The Frame TV in either 43” or 55” because when you’re not watching it as a television, it appears as a framed piece of art on your wall. It looks phenomenal. But don’t take our word for it – come see it for yourself in our newly renovated interactive Home Technology Design Center.

We also love the Sony OLED line and recommend the 65” or 75” or 85” 4K models. They are utterly reliable and offer a beautiful picture resolution.

Finally we highly recommend the Seura mirror TV in several sizes and styles – in your bathroom mirror perhaps? Watch the morning news while shaving? Watch Big Little Lies while bathing? And for outdoor locations, we can’t say enough good words about the Seura Storm line. Simply made for viewing by the pool or hottub!

Media Rooms, Home Theaters and more…

For those who like a dedicated media experience, our expert design team creates the ultimate media rooms and home theaters. We work with the best vendors in the business for seating, speakers, screens and projectors. And we love collaborating with architects, builders and interior designers to engineer spaces our clients love to use. We’ve transformed empty basements into award-winning home theaters.

Anywhere you want to watch TV we can provide distributed video. Your programs can follow you from room to room, too. Start the movie in the media room and finish it in your bedroom. Roof decks, backyard patios and even on the beach – it’s all possible with today’s technology.

Accessories that enhance the experience

Sound bars and external speakers have changed the way we listen while we watch. We’re fans of the BlueSound Pulse Soundbar. We love Leon and Totem, too. Don’t forget your subwoofer! BlueSound has a sub, too.

Universal remote controls are key, but we love the deluxe integration systems from Savant, Crestron and Control4 that connect all of your devices and let you manage audio, video, lighting, window treatments, HVAC and security from the convenience of your smart phone or tablet.

We won’t forget the gamers in the family. We love the XBoxOneX and PlayStation4. We’re fans of Ninentendo Switch, too, which lets you roam with your games and then plug back into a console.

Finally, we’ve been adding many 4K Apple TV systems and Roku for our clients who want to stream and save programs. For our movie loving customers we recommend Kaleidescape.

Viewer’s Guide

Never mind if you missed the Super Bowl. You can download it here. Basically, it is impossible to miss any important moment these days because between YouTube and Google, you can find Oprah’s stirring speech at The Golden Globes or Tom Brady’s Super Bowl fumble. (Although who in New England wants to see that again?)

This week the Winter Olympics begin in South Korea. Opening ceremony is on Friday, February 9 on NBC, but you can catch all the action during the next two weeks on a variety of platforms.

The 90th Academy Awards telecast is Sunday, March 4 on ABC. Meanwhile, college hoops have already started the journey to the Final Four and March Madness.

Whether you prefer sports, news, or entertainment, AVD has got your television viewing/video streaming covered.
